A LITTLE ABOUT THE SOUL BEHIND SOL SURF...
Allow me to introduce myself: I'm Meaghan, affectionately known as Meags, the passionate soul behind Sol Surf and an embodiment of the surfing spirit. With a deep-rooted connection to the waves since 2005, I've immersed myself in the world of surfing, cultivating skills and sharing my love of surfing.
My journey as a surf coach began in 2010, and this role has taken me to some of the most exciting surf destinations. From the local beaches of Perth to the beauty of Margaret River, the warm beaches of the Gold Coast to the lush tropics of Indonesia. I've coached in California and England, and surfed places like South Africa, The Maldives, Morocco and many more.
Fuelled by my love of surfing I decided to study a Bachelor of Science in Surf Science and Technology from 2008-2011. Eager to further expand my knowledge and hoping to land a job in events management within the surfing industry, I pursued a diploma in sports management, specialising in surfing studies, on the Gold Coast. These educational pursuits have equipped me with a deep understanding of the intricacies of the sport and have amplified my ability to inspire others on their surfing journey.
Shaping my life around surfing, I've travelled to many different surf destinations, spending up to 6 months away at a time. As an avid traveller I love the idea of sharing the travelling experience with others and facilitating a trip that brings people joy. Whether they're looking for new friends, an adventure, to get out of their comfort zone or just surf somewhere new and exciting - I can't tell you how much excitement it brings me to be a part of it.
As the proud owner of Sol Surf, my dream has transformed into a reality. Every step of the way, I have had the privilege of hosting incredible individuals who have joined Sol Surf retreats, creating a remarkable community of kindred spirits. With each guest, I've fostered connections and friendships that extend far beyond 'work', embracing the essence of what it means to be a part of the Sol Surf family.
An exciting new chapter has begun, and I continue to build the business. In addition to nurturing Sol Surf, I'm now lucky enough to be a mum to my little grom Georgio.
